Generally, a landscape photographer takes a "wide-angle" view of the world. This viewpoint can miss some of the interesting elements that make up the bigger picture--the opposite of "missing the forest for the trees". These elements may be integral parts of a larger whole, but generally they stand on their own. Sometimes the tree IS the thing! This gallery houses some of the isolated subjects that have caught my eye as I travel--causing me to stop and take a closer look.
